I love weddings.
I think this love started when I was about 16 and I found Mums wedding dress in the cupboard. I put it on, and it fit perfectly (at 16, which means it no longer does!)
Or maybe it was Mum’s recollection of Princess Di’s wedding, as she was in London at the time and it must have been hysteria.
She bought playing cards as memorabilia, and thats exactly what I am trying to do now, but it appears the website www.theroyalweddingwilliamkate.com may have crashed…
Tonight on Australian television there will be almost blanket coverage of the Royal Wedding with most channels broadcasting a commentary on the events in London.
ABC1 is starting its RWF (Royal Wedding Fever) at 6pm.
Channel 7 will be starting its RWF early at 4pm.
Channel 7 (2) is then taking over during the news half hour from 6pm.
Channel 9 also starts their coverage at 4pm, with breaks for the news and A Current Affair.
Channel 10 starts their coverage a little later at 7pm, however no doubt there will be something about it on George Negus’ program.
Some people are against watching the Wedding for moral reasons, (like taxpayers money paid for it) but I think it shouldn’t be about that tonight, sure we can argue all we want tomorrow, but tonight is about the love!
People complain that the news is only full of horrible things, and now they’re complaining about the Royal Wedding. Stop being such a bunch of whingers and just enjoy it!
The papers today were covered with beautiful photos of William and Kate, unlike previous weeks where all we’ve seen are dead bodies and communities in ruin.
With all the bad things happening in our world lately, such as the earthquake in New Zealand, the floods and fires right here in Aus, the tsunami, earthquakes and nuclear meltdown in Japan, the uprising in Egypt, the war in Libya and the tornadoes ripping through the US, surely for night we can put money issues and differing opinions aside.
Make love, not war… Isn’t that what they say? So stop complaining for the evening, settle in with a bottle (or four) of bubbly and some nibblies and enjoy watching the most extravagant fairytale in real life.
Cheers to the Royal Wedding!

I couldn’t be happier for the royal couple. Yes, the media hyped it up beyond belief and made a huged fuss but surely you cannot blame the couple for that. It’s brilliant to see ordinary people celebrating and having fun for a change. Would you rather read about Katie Price or Cheryl Cole hmm?
They both looked awesome and i wish them all the best!
